To businesses and housing in off-gas areas

A biomass boiler is a strong alternative to conventional oil and LPG heating for businesses and housing in rural areas where mains gas is not available. In addition, biomass fuels do not fluctuate with oil and LPG prices.

Eligibility for RHI schemes

Biomass heating systems are eligible for the renewable heat incentive (RHI), either domestic or non-domestic. This is a government financial scheme that aims to encourage people to switch to renewable heating systems. Those who join the scheme and follow the guidelines receive payments in line with the amount of heat that their system produces. Earlswood Services both advise and support customers with RHI compliance and with their applications.

Commercial

The non-domestic RHI is designed to support and encourage the uptake of renewable heat in commercial and business properties. The scheme provides payments to industrial, commercial, public sector and non-profit organisations, as well as district heating schemes for domestic properties, which are generating heat from biomass boilers.

RHI payments are made to the owner of the heating system over a twenty-year period. Tariffs not only cover the costs of the supply and installation of a biomass heating system but also continue to provide an income. Space heating, water heating and process heating are all eligible for RHI payments.

Domestic

Earlswood services can also install biomass boilers that qualify for the domestic RHI, as we are a MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) registered company and only supply MCS registered boilers. The domestic RHI provides quarterly payments over a seven-year period for the generated heat. This at the very least covers the costs of supply and installation.

Heat generation is estimated using values from the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of the residence and the RHI payment is calculated by multiplying the heat demand for the property by the tariff rate.

The biomass boilers we supply are labelled A+ to A++ for energy efficiency, meaning the fuel they burn to generate heat and hot water for your property or business is used efficiently.

In total I have bought 5 ETA boilers from Peter over the years I have known him. I often recommend him to other people without any hesitation. In fact I’m planning boiler number 6 at the moment and it will be Peter who supplies and installs it for me. It’s also nice to know if I need help with anything Peter is at the end of the phone.
